    [First performance – Rakugo “Tenshiki”]

Ms Komaya is excellent at getting the audience heated up. She requested that the children cheered “Koma-chaaaaan”, raising a sense of unity between the stage and the audience.
The story was called “Tenshiki”. Why do children love toilet jokes so much? The audience were trapped in their laughter during the performance.

    [色物/アコーディオン]

Ako’s soft smile and carefree vocals and is just overall a cute person. It seems I wasn’t the only person who thought so. The applause naturally grew larger and the moms were smiling even more than the children. My favourite is the story “I, Kappamaki”. It is a story that just sticks in my head. Iromono that make my feelings light are really great.

    [二席目/落語(死神)]

This is the second time that the master has performed at Kodomoyose. However, last time he did not choose a program that was suitable for children at all.

The selection criteria is usually unknown, but this time it is unknown if the season has been decided. However, it is said that the story “Shinigami” is his masterpiece.

From the start of the performance I was encased in nervousness and spine tingling feelings. It started with this line from the Okami “Oh, you, what are you doing?”, but the children didn’t realise it was a line from the story and thought he was asking somebody. The children in the front row looked behind to see if he was talking to somebody.

I have never seen anything like it. This just proves that the Master’s speech is so natural. Right from the start, the listeners slowly get sucked into the story. Lastly, when the candle scene arrives, the children were leaning forwards gazing at the stage.

Of course, the adults were too. In the questionnaire after the performance. We received many comments that said “I’ve never seen such a compelling Rakugo! From the family club members, we received comments like “I was deeply moved”.

Mr Komagi’s light Rakugo and Master Bungiku‘s authentic and high level stage proved to be well balanced. It’s was just like a pre-Edo performance.
