[Pre-performance event: Mini Fair.]
For our New Year show, we have Mr Igarashi‘s Candy Art, shooting game and spinning top game as our customary events. Furthermore, we added the mask making event from this year.
Participants can carve and paint their mask any colour they like, so you can complete your very own unique mask. -
[Opening performance – Shishimai]
Another New Year customary event started this year. It seems as though no matter how many times they see it the Shishimai performance is scary! It’s heartwarming to see the parents holding the crying children while they a good luck bite on the head.

[First Rakugo performance – Taikobara]
The next story was a precious one that we had rarely heard. Not only children would have difficulty understanding Otaiko-san（male entertainer). The pictures were by Takayuki Ino.

[Iromono – Animal Cry Imitation]
They are possibly the best animal imitating family. The father is the Third Edoya Nekohachi and the older brother is the Fourth Edoya Nekohachi. It was a very exciting stage, where they gave a short lesson on how to imitate animals.

[Second Rakugo performance – Manjū Kowai]
The scene where they pretended to have their cheeks stuffed with Manjū had the children riveted. It’s seemed as though they could see the deliciousness of the Manjū as it was broken in half in their mind’s eye.
